Christmas eve, off today. Jan and I both go see Dr. Hoffen, then off to Perkins for a late breakfast and the honey-baked ham store and Sams .It has been so very warm, that I thought for sure I'd be in the pool on Christmas day but a cold front is quickly pushing the temp down . At least it will feel like Christmas on the outside.

It turned cold for Thanksgiving, well, if 40 is cold. ........but it was nice to burn a log in the fireplace. We had Dawn  and Henry over for dinner and everything was fantastic. After we ate we watched a movie, but Michael was tired so he left early, had to work..on BLACK FRIDAY, and i'm OFF>>

It took Michael and I about 3 hours to get everything finished for Halloween, but it looked fantastic. About 5 pm we all had some of Jan's great chilli, then waited for the trick r treaters. It must have been 6:30 before they started. The weather was beautiful, a little hot! We saw Kira and her kids, Ava and Ion.Mike took lots of pictures and Joyce and Jan handed out about 90 cups of candy!

We picked Joyce up at the airport on Sunday, goofed around, got Mike's car to Phil, took Joy out to Longhorn for her birthday,watched Dancing with the Stars and worked on setting up the Halloween. It has been a busy vacation , and it's only Tuesday ! The weather is getting warmer and should be down-right hot for Halloween. Can't wait..

October 22nd day off

God , What a beautiful day ! A little warmer than usual, probable close to 90, but nice! We got the floors done after I did the lawn and cleaned the pool filter. Then went to Steak n Shake for dinner. Got a whole mess of trick r treat candy at Target/ getting close/ can't wait..

Well, October trudges forward towards my wonderful Halloween; the weather has been good, a little more rain than I like,but very autumnal nevertheless. I have the heaters on the pool constantly now, in hopes that I can keep the pool swimable for as long as possible. Both Jan and I have been fighting pain, hers in her back and legs and me with the nerves in my head. Hopefully we will feel better before Joyce gets here for my vacation at the end of the month. I still want to be Gomez Addams and hope I can snag someone to be Morticia and maybe Lurch or Fester.

It's been a while and our vacation is finally here but so far it's been rainy and I've had this nerve pain in my head. I got an MRI on Tuesday,then went back to see Dr. Hoffen. he says he thinks its "trigeminal neuralgia" Not a fun vacation, although it's been great having Carole and Harry here. Learned how to play  new card game.

Yesterday we took our Libby dog to the humane society to be put to sleep. I don't think she really understood what was happening and Jan had given her a sedative so she was a little sleepy, but it was hard. To say goodbye to a pet that has lived with you for 13 years is very sad. I can only hope that she is in a better place with Sammy and Uncle Bill and that we will all be together.

Sammy was a great dog with a quiet disposition and an easy- going manner. He had chronic bronchitis which forced him to cough all the time and it was terrible for him and annoying to everyone else, but now that he isn't here, it seems so awfully quiet in the house. This is a video of our Sammy dog doing what he loved the most. We sure miss him.

I can home yesterday and Janice met me at the door. I  was excited because my mimosa tree had a little pink bloom on it,and I wanted her to see it, but before I could tell her, she said " Sammy is dead". He died about 4pm while laying on the sofa. We had been watching him because he didn't want to eat or even move and coughed really deep. We don't know what took his life, only that we really miss him. He was a special dog and we loved him very much. Rest in Peace Sammy the Bear, may God keep you by his side.

Here.s JULY  June went so fast, we had lots of rain and hot days. and it looks like this month will be the same.

June. already and it has been hot and wet. lots of rain, the pool is full and the yard needs cutting every day. I love summertime !

Tuesday day off and the weather is fantastic. Jan had a dr. appointment and I had to go to work to help with the truck, but the pool is warm and the sun is bright so we might go to a movie tonight and eat out to celebrate Jan's birthday.

March came and went and Lent is over! we had some good weather and some bad, both Jan and I caught terrible colds. April started out really nice, we both got in the pool on our days off, but then it got chilly. I had to take the camero to Phil for a new fan motor and my computer is acting up, haven't heard from Brandon! I've got to call Sis and find out how Clint's operation went, haven't heard from her either. Michael was sick over the week end, must have been a real bad 24 hour flu bug. He and his store won the 2nd place in the 40 days of Pride, he gets a free 5 day cruise ( wants me to go with him)

Wow, a couple days ago it was in the high 80's but tonight it's getting colder and colder. They say in the 30's by morning. we are watching Once upon a time in front of a wonderful fire.

January is going quickly. Janice is in Missouri for the week,
I'm on vacation, watching the dogs and it has been really cold here Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday 40.s  Of course it has been in the teens in St.Louis. Brrrrr !!!
